Ghanaian footballer Thomas Teye Partey is mourning the passing of his father, Jacob Teye Partey, according to reports circulating on Wednesday.
Jacob Partey was known publicly as the father of the Ghanaian midfielder and had previously spoken about his son’s journey into professional football. In 2020, he revealed that he had sold land and other properties to help Thomas pursue his football ambitions in Europe.
Thomas Partey, born in Odumase Krobo, developed through Ghana’s youth football system before moving to Atlético Madrid, where he began his professional career. He later played for Arsenal and has also represented the Ghana national team.
