ACCRA, Ghana — VITO S-Class Services Ltd. has announced a major technological breakthrough in Ghana’s vehicle inspection industry with the launch of an Artificial Intelligence-powered Vehicle Inspection Management System (VIMS), positioning digital innovation at the heart of road safety, regulatory compliance and customer service.
The new platform was unveiled during the official commissioning of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) Ultra Center at Dome on Thursday, July 23, 2026, an event that highlighted the growing collaboration between the DVLA and VITO S-Class Services Ltd. to modernise vehicle inspection services nationwide.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of VITO S-Class Services Ltd., Mrs Jacqueline Oppong Mensah, described Artificial Intelligence as the next frontier of vehicle inspection, stressing that the company’s investment represents a long-term commitment to improving operational efficiency while enhancing public confidence in Ghana’s transport sector.
“Our vision is to build a vehicle inspection ecosystem powered by innovation, transparency and professionalism,” Mrs Oppong Mensah said.
At the centre of the company’s digital transformation agenda is the Vehicle Inspection Management System (VIMS), an intelligent platform designed to manage every stage of the inspection process electronically—from vehicle registration and inspection scheduling to testing, certification and record management.
The digital platform is expected to significantly reduce processing time, improve operational accuracy, minimise human error and strengthen accountability across inspection centres.
Complementing the platform is an integrated AI Voice Assistant, developed to provide instant guidance to customers, support frontline staff and deliver real-time information throughout the inspection process.
“We believe the future of vehicle inspection will be driven by technology and powered by Artificial Intelligence,” Mrs Oppong Mensah stated.
She emphasised that technology should not merely automate processes but should fundamentally improve public service delivery, strengthen regulatory compliance and ultimately contribute to safer roads across Ghana.
“For us, technology is not an end in itself. It is a tool for improving service delivery, strengthening regulatory compliance and, ultimately, making our roads safer,” she added.
Mrs Oppong Mensah further reaffirmed VITO S-Class’ commitment to sustained investment in technology, workforce development and internationally recognised quality management systems while expanding its strategic partnership with the DVLA.
According to her, every professionally inspected vehicle contributes directly to reducing road crashes, improving compliance with national safety standards and protecting lives.
The launch comes as the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority accelerates its broader digital transformation programme aimed at improving public access to services while expanding its operational footprint nationwide.
Addressing guests, DVLA Chief Executive Mr Julius Neequaye Kotey underscored the importance of aligning infrastructure expansion with digital innovation to deliver faster, more efficient and citizen-focused services.
He noted that technology will continue to play a central role in strengthening Ghana’s vehicle registration and inspection ecosystem while supporting national road safety objectives.
The commissioning of the Dome Ultra Center represents another milestone in the DVLA’s decentralisation strategy, bringing essential licensing and inspection services closer to motorists while reducing congestion at existing offices.
Within the past one-and-a-half years, the Authority has commissioned 23 new offices across Ghana, reinforcing its commitment to improving accessibility, convenience and service excellence.
The latest partnership between the DVLA and VITO S-Class Services Ltd. is expected to further accelerate the adoption of smart vehicle inspection technologies, setting new standards for transparency, efficiency and customer satisfaction within Ghana’s transport sector.
