22-Year-Old Christian Owusu Sentenced to 10 Years for Robbery in Ashanti Region

A 22-year-old man identified as Christian Owusu has reportedly been sentenced to 10 years in prison with hard labour after pleading guilty to robbery before the Atasemanso Circuit Court in the Ashanti Region.

According to a report shared by UTV Ghana, Owusu entered a guilty plea before the court, leading to his conviction and sentencing.

The case adds to a series of robbery-related prosecutions before courts in the Ashanti Region as authorities continue efforts to tackle criminal activity and strengthen public safety.

Recent cases before the Atasemanso Circuit Court have also resulted in lengthy prison sentences for robbery convictions. In July 2025, three 18-year-old men were sentenced to 10 years each after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery and multiple counts of robbery following an attack at Boubai in the Asokore Mampong Municipality.

GhanaNews.org will continue to follow developments in crime, policing and court proceedings across the Ashanti Region.
