ACCRA, September, 25Th 2026, Nexans Kabelmetal Ghana Ltd, the leader in the manufacturing of safe and quality cables in Ghana, has convened energy and industrial stakeholders for its first Grid Reliability Workshop, bringing together representatives from power generation, transmission and distribution, mining and industrial sectors, to explore practical ways to strengthen the reliability and resilience of Ghana’s electrical infrastructure.
Held under the theme “Grid Reliability – The Shift from Products to End-to-End Solutions,” the workshop highlighted the need to move beyond high-quality components towards integrated solutions that enhance network reliability and resilience. Discussions explored how reliable cable systems, real-time monitoring, smart anti-theft solutions and proactive fault detection can improve asset performance, anticipate disruptions and enable better-informed operational and investment decisions, while addressing the evolving needs of Ghana’s energy sector.

Moussa Kafal, Nexans group Global Offer Grid Senior Manager, joined local stakeholders to share perspectives on integrated grid solutions and the role of network observability. The sessions examined three complementary priorities: building networks correctly from the design and specification stage; making assets and network conditions visible; and translating that visibility into timely decisions throughout the asset lifecycle.
“A more reliable grid starts with getting the fundamentals right, but it also requires visibility into what is happening across the network. When operators can detect emerging issues earlier and use better data to guide decisions, they are better equipped to protect assets and maintain service continuity.” Said Moussa Kafal, Nexans Global Offer Grid senior manager.
The event created space for utilities, industrial customers and technical experts to exchange experience on their operational challenges and discuss approaches suited to local conditions.
