Ghana’s Black Queens made the perfect start to their CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2026 campaign with a confident 2-0 victory over Cape Verde.
The Black Queens controlled much of the contest, creating the better chances and maintaining possession throughout the game before finding the breakthrough. Ghana added a second goal to seal a comfortable win and collect all three points in their tournament opener.
The victory gives Ghana an early boost in the group standings and strengthens the team’s confidence as they prepare for their remaining group-stage fixtures.
