The Ghana Police Service has declared TikToker Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, popularly known as “Ghana Jollof,” wanted over an alleged case of inciting violence, as investigations into the social media account continue.
According to a wanted-person notice issued by the Police, Kodua, 40, was last seen at the Accra International Airport on August 4, 2022, and is suspected by investigators to be hiding in the United Kingdom. The Police have appealed to the public to provide information that could assist in locating her.
The development follows the arrest and court proceedings involving senior nurse Salomey Awity Baffoe, whom the Police accuse of assisting in the dissemination of content associated with the “Ghana Jollof” TikTok account. The Police say forensic examination of phones, audio and video files and mobile-money records has revealed alleged financial and communication links between individuals connected to the account.
The Police further allege that Kodua sent money to Baffoe to support the publication and redistribution of the content. Baffoe has been remanded to assist investigations and is expected to reappear before the court on September 30, 2026.
Meanwhile, a statement attributed to Kofi Tonto, a special aide to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has questioned the basis of the police action and referenced the popularity of Ghana Jollof’s online publications. These claims and other allegations surrounding the case remain matters of public and legal dispute.
The Police have not indicated that Kodua has been arrested or charged before a court. Investigations into the Ghana Jollof account and other persons allegedly connected to the online activities are continuing.
