ACCRA — The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, is providing long-term financing to PLP Properties Ltd. to support the development of a new 170-room Hampton by Hilton hotel in Accra, a project expected to provide 990 direct and indirect jobs, including 200 permanent positions. Located near Accra International Airport, Hampton by Hilton Accra Airport is positioned to become Hilton’s first hotel to open in Ghana and one of the first Hampton by Hilton properties in West Africa. The project is expected to expand the supply of internationally branded midscale accommodation for business and leisure travellers. The investment comes as Ghana’s travel and tourism sector continues to make a significant contribution to the national economy. In 2024, travel and tourism contributed an estimated 5.7 percent of Ghana’s gross domestic product and supported more than 800,000 jobs.
